🇷🇴 Romania has signed a €2-2.3 billion framework agreement with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to acquire six SPYDER SHORAD/VSHORAD batteries over the next seven years. These systems will feature IAI’s ELTA multi-mission radar and are slated for early delivery within three years.
🌐 This follows a broader boom: Israel achieved record defense exports: $14.7-15 billion in 2024-with air defense systems accounting for nearly half of that volume.
🔝 Beyond SPYDER, systems like Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow 2/3 have excelled operationally - from intercepting rockets in southern Israel to shielding against ballistic threats.
