In its continued efforts to boost production of 155MM HE Artillery projectiles, The U.S. Army and General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems have opened the new Camden, AR facility for Load-Assemble-Pack (LAP) production line. That move is expected to bring the total production of the projectiles in the U.S. Army to 100,000 per month.
💡 Automation & flexibility: Camden’s twin robotic melt-cast lines cut labor hours, improve QA and allow fast change-over between HE, smoke and illumination loads.
🌎 The production challenges of raw materials for the TNT, the TNT itself, the propellant charges and all other ancillary - are still a valid challenges that are being taken care of systematically by the US ARMY, and some of them are expected to be resolved within the next year or two.
